Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market
Winchester Cathedral Close, Winchester · 20 November to 22 December 2026
Wooden chalets in the style of a German Christmas market fill the historic Close around Winchester Cathedral for just over a month, selling handmade gifts, local food and festive drinks. The cathedral itself runs Christmas services, music and tours alongside the market.
Highlights
- Chalets set in the grounds of the cathedral Close
- Handcrafted gifts and artisan food from selected traders
- Late opening until 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays
- Carols, lights and mulled wine around the stalls
Good to know
- Weekends are very busy; the cathedral suggests a weekday visit if you are bringing a dog, pushchair or wheelchair
- Three entrances: Curles Passage to the right of the cathedral, Colebrook Street (Water Gate) and St Swithun's Street
- City centre parking is limited, so the cathedral recommends the train or Winchester's park and ride, which runs later on late opening nights
- Groups arriving by coach must book a free drop-off slot on The Broadway
