Wooden chalets, bars and fairground rides fill Above Bar Street and Guildhall Square for six weeks, with a laser show projected on the Bargate every 30 minutes from 5pm. The opening event brings local choirs, live music and the switch-on of the Bargate light show.
Highlights
- Laser show on the historic Bargate from 5pm, every half hour
- Ferris wheel, Star Flyer and gentler rides for younger children
- Santa's Grotto, and Santa walking through the market for photos
- Moose Bar and Alpine Bar for hot chocolate, mulled wine and German beer
Good to know
- Times are for the bars, food and rides; some craft stalls close earlier
- The bars stay open until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays
- The organiser's page gives the end date as Sunday 27 December, with one line showing 2027 in error, so check before a late December visit
